Wandering around Mississippi Avenue we came across Blue Star Donuts. We decided we would just go in to have a peek at them, but that was pretty short lived. The delicious smell and the gorgeous looking treats convinced us we had to get a least one. We opted for the maple bacon and the Mexican hot chocolate. They were two very different styles but both delicious in their own way. The Mexican hot chocolate won for me, as it’s rich chocolate and subtle spice was the perfect balance.
This has now been my second donut stop in Portland, and for a person who really doesn’t like donuts, I’ve been thoroughly impressed. Blue Star Donuts really has a gourmet taste to theirs. Their donuts are art and it’s clear that they uphold to a high standard.
