Exploring the Beauty of YYC and Beyond

Portland is full of brunch options so finding the perfect place was a bit more challenging than we thought. We chose based on location, reviews, and food options and Jams on Hawthorne fit the bill. They have a large, diverse menu with options for all: vegetarians, vegans, meat lovers, and gluten-free people. The restaurant itself is cozy and a mecca for art.

Although they had a diverse cocktail menu, we ended up just ordering a coffee, which was excellent. For our food, I ordered the bacon benny, which had a delicious, sweet, lemony hollandaise sauce and it was served with a massive serving of shredded hash browns. Daniel went for a speciality of theirs, the corned beef hash. It was fantastic! The neat thing about this place which I really appreciated, is if you’re having difficult choosing between sweet and savory, you can order a sweet side, which obviously we did. The lemon ricotta pancakes were absolutely perfect and hit the spot. They were served with a blueberry compote and maple syrup.

If it’s breakfast you’re after, Jam’s is your place!
