This modern diner is located at the bottom of the Fairfield Inn & Suites on 12 Avenue in Calgary. I will admit that I was a little skeptical to eat at the restaurant in a hotel, but as soon as I entered The Beltliner, I knew this place was different.
The first thing I noticed pinned to a bulletin board on the wall was a sign that read the following rules: no selfie sticks, no vaping, no touching the staff, no corduroy pants (no exceptions), be nice or leave. This was a place that I could get behind! Their fun energy permeated throughout the restaurant and in their modern twist on diner classics.
We ordered two breakfast dishes to try. First the Beltliner Benedict, a great go-to. The eggs were cooked great, the hollandaise sauce delicious, and the scallop style hash brown cakes were to die for! Second, was the Beltliner Burger: A two patty burger topped with all the fixings and a sunnyside egg. Definitely a keeper on the menu!
Whether you’re downtown or not, this cute little diner will make you come back time and time again.
