Exploring the Beauty of YYC and Beyond

Operating now for the fifth year in Calgary, Brewery and the Beast is an event not to miss out on. It brings together over forty restaurants from around the city showcasing top tasting options, while Phillips Brewing Company, and several cideries and wineries sample drinks to pair with the dishes. The purpose of this event is to educate and inform consumers on supporting responsible and local food producers, and highlighting where one could purchase or taste such items.

Standard tickets for the event are $111, all in with fees and taxes, and cover your costs completely. When you arrive at the front gate at Fort Calgary, you’re given a tray to carry your food and drinks on and eight drink tickets to use. Nothing further needs to be purchased once you’re through the gates. The food options are limitless, and your eight drink tickets are more than enough to keep you going for the afternoon. All of the utensils, cups, and disposables at this event are either compostable or recyclable.

We tried as many food options as we could, from skewers to tacos to desserts, and left pleasantly full. It’s an event worth checking out for sure, but you’ll have to wait until next August to do so!
