Developing meaningful learning activities for students must be organized and planned through each lesson. When I develop lessons, it is crucial for me to look at the learning target and know what the purpose of the lesson is. Without having an outcome, the lesson lacks in every area.
Through planning lessons I believe that collaboration is key. Sharing ideas and learning from others, only helps me to grow as a teacher. I work hard with my grade level team to share ideas, develop concepts, and create activities that will engage students. Through frequent formative assessments I can understand if my students learned a skill, and either move on to the next topic, or adapt my teaching to help them in another way. I continue to seek out new skills and opportunities to work together with fellow teachers to create meaningful lessons, which allow opportunities to monitor student success.
